Being some of the more pricey options, hardwood constructed frames such as kiln dried oak, beech or ash wood provide a durable foundation that will last a lifetime if treated correctly. Softer wood types like pine is a popular affordable option, but it may warp or buckle after a few years. Any sofa frames made of particleboard, plastic, or metal is to be avoided, as it will likely warp or crack and is generally uncomfortable.
